I was on my own with two kids at home this winter break. Today is the last day of solo-parenting and, I swear to God, I made it by the skin of my teeth.
Found items not pictured: a half-eaten jar of children’s vitamins and a Star Wars sleeping bag with about 200 of those plastic flossers dumped into the bottom.
Last Fall, I was part of a group of local comic artists who collected stories from patients and volunteers at the free, four-day, volunteer run Seattle/King County Clinic. It was an incredible experience and I’m so grateful for everyone who took the time to talk with me. Here’s the first comic (which was actually my last interview), published in Real Change this week.

It was truly a dream come true to make something for these incredible women. As someone who loves watching sports (Go Reign! Go Storm!) but cannot stomach the sexism, racism, and toxic masculinity endemic to sports culture, finding this feminist sports podcast was a revelation. Check it out!
I’m too angry and heartbroken to make something about the Republicans stealing from the poor and giving to the rich (and claiming not to have funds to provide health insurance to children). So, instead, here’s a glimpse into our drive to gymnastics this morning.
